About the Downtown San Mateo Association The DSMA established in 1956, is a coalition of San Mateo businesses, professionals and property owners, working together to promote and improve business and civic activity downtown. The DSMA sponsors special events, provides business development support for members, acts as a member's advocate to the City Council and contributes to aesthetic and environmental enhancements throughout the downtown area.
